Better known as Gum Disease, it is a form of Periodontal disease and is classified as inflammation and infection of the gums, ligaments and tooth sockets. This is caused my long term plaque and tartar build up. The bacteria and toxins they produce cause infection, swelling and tenderness. Symptoms of Gingivitis include:

    • Mouth sores
    • Bleeding gums
    • Swollen gums
    • Shiny appearance to gums
    • Bright red or reddish-purple appearance to gums
    • Gums that are tender when touched, but otherwise painless
